Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Core Therapy website and telehealth services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Core Therapy regarding your use of our website and mental health services.

Description of Services

Core Therapy provides virtual mental health therapy services to residents of California. Our services include:

• Individual therapy sessions via secure video telehealth
• Free matching consultations to connect you with the right therapist
• Insurance verification and billing services
• Appointment scheduling and management

Eligibility Requirements

To use our services, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age (or have parental/guardian consent)
• Be a current resident of California
• Be physically located in California during telehealth sessions
• Have access to a private, secure location for sessions
• Have reliable internet connection and video-capable device

Telehealth Informed Consent

By using our telehealth services, you acknowledge and understand:

• Nature of Telehealth: Therapy will be conducted via secure video conferencing rather than in-person
• Technology Risks: Technical difficulties may occasionally interrupt sessions
• Privacy Considerations: While we use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platforms, no technology is 100% secure
• Limitations: Telehealth may not be appropriate for all conditions or situations
• Emergency Situations: Telehealth is not appropriate for psychiatric emergencies

Not Emergency Services

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please:

• Call 911 for immediate danger
• Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
• Go to your nearest emergency room
• Text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line)

Our therapists do not provide 24/7 crisis services. Response times for messages outside of scheduled sessions may vary.

Insurance and Payment

Insurance Coverage

We accept various insurance plans including Anthem, Blue Shield of California, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Oscar. However:

• Insurance verification is not a guarantee of coverage
• Coverage, copays, and deductibles vary by plan
• You are responsible for understanding your insurance benefits
• You are responsible for any amounts not covered by insurance

Payment Responsibility

You agree to pay all applicable copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and any fees for services not covered by insurance. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We understand that schedules change. However, to ensure availability for all clients:

• Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations
• Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may be subject to a fee
• No-shows may be subject to a fee equal to the session cost
• Repeated no-shows may result in discharge from services

Insurance does not cover cancellation or no-show fees.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is important to us. All information shared during therapy is confidential, with the following exceptions required by law:

• Imminent danger to yourself or others
• Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult
• Court orders or legal subpoenas
• When you provide written authorization for disclosure

Professional Relationship

The relationship between you and your therapist is a professional therapeutic relationship. This means:

• Your therapist cannot be your friend, family member, or have a dual relationship
• Social media connections with your therapist are not permitted
• Gifts are generally not accepted
• The relationship exists only during active treatment

No Guarantees

While we strive to provide high-quality mental health services:

• We cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results
• Therapy effectiveness varies by individual
• Progress depends on many factors including your participation
• Some conditions may require additional or different treatment

Website Use

When using our website, you agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Attempt to access unauthorized areas of the site
• Interfere with the website's functionality
• Use the site for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute website content without permission

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Core Therapy and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Core Therapy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services or website. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for services in the twelve months preceding any claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Core Therapy, its therapists, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of our services.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
